I love the opening lines to the song. The idea of dreaming to a beat, and escaping through the bass production of music is something that really resonates with queer people especially queer youth, listening to artists like Charli xcx or SOPHIE. Also, using pop music as a way that we gained confidence as younger people and still do today. Seeing strong femmes in music videos by Gaga and Katy gave us a fantasy but also translated that confidence into our every day lives.

When Slayyyter is talking later about how she is unhappier than she's every been, even though she is successful, that is something that really resonates with me today, going through a lot emotionally due to the state oe the world even though you would think im at my happiest because I'm literally living out my dreams living in London studying fashion at CSM.

I think in these scenarios, I find myself doing what Slayyyter was describing earlier which is escaping through the visuals and loudness of pop music.

I definitely want to incorporate that enveloping feeling of pop music and its visuals in the world I am creating.

I think it could be interesting to have that energy channeled into the garments, but place them in a really barren area to emphasise that contrast of having pop as a maximalist escape when you are feeling empty or drained.

I also find myself resorting to pop when I need just just make and not distract myself with too many thoughts. That translates into the world I am creating which is a space to create without always having to worry about the implications of what you create. Surrounding myself with pop music allows me to escape from my reality and do that, to later contextualise what I make with more seriousness.
